This is a safe space for everyone. When you sit in our chair we want you to feel welcome, accepted, comfortable - and, most importantly - authentically you.

Citrus owners Alex and Courtney met over a decade ago, working together at a small salon in Wilmington, NC. Alex left the salon and moved to Costa Rica in 2017, and spent two years there before returning to Wilmington.

In early 2021, Courtney opened her salon suite, and Alex – having just moved back from Costa Rica – rented from her temporarily. The more the two talented stylists worked together, the more they recognized what an incredible team they made. Self-described as “yin and yang,” Courtney and Alex were interested in developing a creative, fun space for talented stylists and discerning clients to come together and thrive.

Et voilà, Citrus Salon was born.

When the doors of Citrus Salon opened in July, 2021, they had just six stylists; now, Citrus boasts a team of 20. “We knew an Aveda salon would be the perfect fit for downtown,”

- Alex said, “I couldn’t be more grateful for our community and team.”
